The Bhagavad Gita also known as 'the Gita' is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that came from an epic Indian poem called The Mahabharata. It is a dialogue between the God Krishna who represents our divine aspect and Arjuna who represents our human aspect. The setting of the dialogue takes place on a large battlefield called Kurukshetra representing the ongoing battle between Dharma (righteousness) and Adharma (unrighteous). In this arena, Arjuna is faced with old patterns and beliefs which have made it difficult to take a stand in his life. Despite his struggles, Krishna accompanies him, expressing the importance of working through his old patterns and tendencies so that he can purify his soul and live in greater alignment with his divine purpose.

The following recordings are classes from our weekly discussions on Insight Timer. During these lectures, I read a verse from the Bhagavad Gita and then we dive into it as a community.

Please note: The naming of the chapters below do not reflect those found in the actual book.

These are inspired titles that were given to the lectures upon their recording.
