Would you like to strengthen your nervous system, develop your inner “grit”, and empty your mind of the dramas and concerns it’s circling in?
Personally, I love the focus. There’s something in the mudra, the posture, and the breathing technique that brings me 100% into this moment, and I can feel the power of focusing all my attention on one thing.
Try to keep your elbows straight
The original instructions treat the V between your thumbs as a gunsight. I don’t personally like that visual, but it’s very effective. You look through and beyond the sight, while staying focused on the V in front of you.
Be sure that you can do the meditation perfectly for the entire length of time you choose to practice. If not, shorten the time and build up.
As you master the practice, you can increase the time that you hold the breath out from 15 seconds up to 60 seconds. Pick a time that is realistic for you.
Slowly build the whole meditation up to 11 minutes. Do not exceed 11 minutes.
