The Chakras 2.0 Series

We have been taught that our chakras are often "blocked" causing whatever challenges we are having emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. In some ways, this is true. However, it leads us to believe somehow that something inside of us is broken... which isn't helpful in healing.

What if we realized that our chakras are Divine Light within us and perfect? What if instead, we understand that we have an "interface" that we have created between our inner perfection and this "shadow world" that we live in.

Welcome to a series called "Chakras 2.0" - looking at the chakras In The Light.

Yamas

The yamas give us a new perspective on what's possible in life, because, for millennia, we have been trained to respond to violence to lying to a lack of everything in the world.

The yamas give us a new focus, a new possibility, a new goal to work towards. When we do that, all of our practice changes. Every kriya we do, every meditation we do, every conversation we have, every walk along the beach... everything changes.

Our goal is no longer to be possessed by this world. We don't want to be controlled by external stimuli. As we walk our path, we may respond to the world. But we don't have hooks into it. We release them completely.

To do this, we do the yoga, the meditation, and then bit by bit, this peaceful, non-reactive way just becomes our life.

Niyamas

The niyamas are our path. This is where we really embrace the idea that my path is really ours alone. It has nothing to do with other people. It really is our path. This is where we really start to embrace the spirit of the yogi.

What is my journey? What is my journey to self, to God, to wholeness, to serving humanity? What is my path?

The niyamas give us really interesting guideposts for healthy living.
